Learning Microsoft Windows Programming and Technologies
I, Shakti Saran, have worked using Microsoft platforms, technologies, programming languages, tools on several types of applications. Perhaps over the years, I would even gain expertise on some of them. This web-site is meant to help me for the same. However, from my little experience of the many things Microsoft, the products built and services delivered using them can have great value for self and society.

I think that my idea on Food Quality link can make a significant contribution. It requires to be detailed at the many levels and that which would be best done by people at those levels than by central planners because central planning of details might even impede its growth and development towards realization. The central planners would be required to formulate policies and procedures for general management and execution including for providing necessary and proper support and guidance at every level.

Can I use Express Editions for commercial use? Yes, there are no licensing restrictions for applications built using Visual Studio Express Editions.
My earlier thought was to get on the Bizspark program but then I had received a call from a rep at the Microsoft Delhi office for providing more information through some email which they were going to send. I thought it was most likely due to I haven't started a company for which I had even asked the rep on which the rep had mentioned that her manager would be able to reply to when I send the email. I realized this might become a lot of effort when I just want to make software products and then put them online for sales with little other effort by sharing revenues with copy-protection and online payment-processing companies so that I don't have to make those efforts.
I then read from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/906676/does-ms-bizspark-support-companies-in-the-garage-stage that even those who haven't yet started a company should be able to get on the Bizspark program. I then realized I should apply the many free versions of the Microsoft platforms like the Visual Studio Express edition until I must get on the Bizspark program. I had experienced the limitation of the Express edition for not having a visual editor for the .RC file for which the above link provides the free XN Resource Editor for use.
I would think many people starting to make Microsoft based products would be able to greatly benefit from the above before they use the possibly scarce local Bizspark resources either due to having lot of applications or if not many software products are made there and so the professionals aren't aware of the many things including which are online on their web-sites and hence might even require you to write emails or do many things which aren't making the software products. If the rep had told me that she would call me and let me know whether my already provided information without having a company is enough to apply for the program that would've been great whether I then replied to the email or not for getting on the Bizspark program.
This is like when I had gone for my hair cut to a new shop my hair-cutter had told me that he knows of a doctor who has helped people re-grow their hair because he saw I have roots which should help me grow back some of them. When I had asked for the doctor's number he had told me that he didn't have the doctor's number but that when I visit next time he would give it to me. The shop even took my number in the register for which I gave dad's number because I didn't remember mine which is new and on which I had received this call. Funnily I had met there a hair-cutter from many years ago who had even kept my old number. I gave my hair-cutter a big tip according to me for his service. The hair-cutter didn't say that he could give me a call on this number to provide me the doctor's number. Of course, when I start a company I would try getting on the Bizspark program because then I might not have to write on issues which the rep had mentioned that her manager would be able to reply to when I send the email.
I would like to mention for the users of other operating systems that I've used Linux, Mac, Solaris etc. After writing above and then while fixing spelling mistakes here which I had noticed in my email editor while sending the above in email I had realized that I should mention about the value of Linux operating system which I've used most besides Microsoft built operating systems. My operating systems course was using the Linux kernel. When I had learned enterprise JAVA I had realized the value of Linux because of many free server software for it. I've realized that on some web-sites people mention on business practices related to Microsoft platforms. In this regard, when I couldn't afford Microsoft platforms I didn't use them by using free open-source platforms. I realize that Microsoft is making things free to enable people who earlier only had open-source for an option.
I realize that people are generally much ahead of technology in terms of their needs. I probably didn't realize the markings for spelling errors while editing this when I had even tried looking for a spell checker on the Page Editor funnily not realizing the Page Editor was already marking spelling errors. I was perhaps just thinking of a spell checker button even when I've been editing pages on this web-site for a while and now realize again that Page Editor does mark spelling errors without needing a spell checker button. However, just like people who just keep thinking of the differences between Microsoft built operating systems and others I kept thinking of a spell checker button because that's what I wanted but didn't realize the technology was providing it even without me wanting it and then having to click buttons for it. This might even be for making things easier for people and that when people realize the many things which are becoming easier using technology they should also realize that it wouldn't be like this without the many different technologies that help them become better with each other like computer science education using open-source or another operating system and then work using open-source or another operating system. I think the quality of open-source platforms greatly help the computer scientists to learn to work on the many other platforms which besides many values provide the value of product entrepreneurship which can significantly contribute to society and the overall environment.
